Harwood Union’s Harry Brusa Library
The Harwood Library offers print and digital resources to serve the needs of Harwood students and faculty.  With an extensive print collection of nearly 20,000 titles, an array of academic databases, audiobooks, and computers, the library aids students in their pursuit of academic excellence while also providing a comfortable and quiet space for study and group work.

Mission
The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.   – American Association of School Librarians (AASL)

Library Hours
Regular Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 7:45am-4pm
Friday: 7:45am-2:47pm
The Library may be closed periodically for meetings.  A sign will be posted on the door and on the blog to indicate hours of closure.

Library Etiquette
Please respect your fellow classmates by working quietly.  Use common sense when utilizing technology in the library. Audio/video files cannot be played “out loud;” headphones are available at the front desk, if needed.  All students are expected to work on academic assignments, free reading, or research while in the library.  This includes students who are on “uptime.”  Students arriving from study hall will have a library pass signed by the study hall teacher and will present the pass to a library staff member upon arrival.  Food is not allowed in the library.

Circulation Information
Books are checked out for a period of 2 weeks.  An item may be renewed unless someone else is waiting to check it out.  Students are responsible for returning their books on time.  Additional items may be checked out after any overdue items have been returned or renewed.  Faculty members are encouraged to check books out as well.

Overdues and Item Replacement
The library does not charge fines but borrowing privileges may be revoked if a user continually has overdue books.  Item replacement costs will be issued for lost or damaged items.

Audiobooks
The Library offers over a hundred different audiobook titles via Audible.  An audiobook may be downloaded to the student’s mobile device or personal laptop on request.  We also have iPods available for check out.  To check out an audiobook, please see Celia or Mrs. Westbrook.
